The newsletter

Every few weeks, you’ll receive a personal essay on something that has captured my heart in a specific and unforgettable way.

My name is Stacey. I’m from California and live in London. The weather’s worse here, but the butter’s better. I gravitate towards endings, misplace everything, and am always waiting for summer.

Some of my favorite authors are Elena Ferrante, Elif Batuman, and Ling Ma. I like observant, morally muddy characters, tragicomic coming-of-age stories, and writing that’s tinged with strangeness or longing.

My debut novel, KITTEN, follows a young woman who becomes obsessed with her boyfriend’s cat. It is forthcoming from Random House (US) and Sceptre (UK).
